History of Read Write Inc.
Dame Ruth Miskin
I created the programme Read Write Inc. in 2002 (then known as RML). I started with a small team: a writer, illustrator and editor and an administrator. I provided training with two others.
In 2006 we went into partnership with Oxford University Press (OUP). OUP took over the publishing though worked with us to develop all new Read Write Inc. books and resources.
We continued to be responsible for all the training and renamed the organisation Ruth Miskin Training. We now have 140 trainers, as well as dedicated teams for training, development, bookings, filming, and software and IT.
We continue to develop the programme, support even more teachers, and together we strive to teach every child to read.
